BA Degree Overview

BA Degree Overview

We have set out to create an incredible 3 year programme. You will be immersed in filmmaking from the day you arrive. The course is uniquely designed to launch your career before you've even graduated; indeed, some of our first year students have attained their first paid jobs already! If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Screenology has designed this course to cultivate your own definition of success. We aim to tailor your experience to your ambitions and aspirations; whilst inspiring further exploration into your particular areas of passion.

Industry Tutors

Every single in-house tutor is firmly embedded in the film, TV or video industry. We also offer a range of industry talks and panels so our students get a broad picture of current industry climate. It is important for us that those delivering the course are all abreast of the latest developments and technologies.

You will get lots of opportunities, both within the course and as extra-curricular activity, to work on real productions... from short film and web-video work, right through to placements in TV studios and on feature film sets.  All tailored to your particular interests.

You will have more access to the very latest digital film equipment than any other course.  Our philosophy is one of practice, practice, practice! Some film schools expect you to have produced 3 films by the end of your 3 years of study... we expect you to do that in your first month! Using our flexible gear booking system every student can book equipment for school and personal projects - in fact, we try not to distinguish between the two.

Learn by doing

Learn by doing

Most film-makers agree that the best way to learn is by making stuff - lots of stuff! There is no substitute for learning from experience. This is at the heart of our educational philosophy. From day one, you will be encouraged to make numerous different films, covering all aspects of film-making.  Although not a definitive list (and some projects may vary) this gives you an idea of what you'll get up to:

  • Make a 60 Second 'autobiography' entirely from audio
  • Deliver a 'How To' instructional video, that will be published online
